Hoi An Named in Top 10 Most Popular Destinations Worldwide

Hoi An, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offers a rich history, vibrant arts scene, delectable local cuisine, stunning beaches, and an unforgettable nightlife. According to a popular travel website, this central city is a must-visit destination.

The website recommends several top attractions to explore in Hoi An, such as the Chùa Cầu (Bridge Pagoda), the charming old streets, the Quan Cong Pagoda Temple, and the lively Hoi An Market.

Recently, Hoi An was recognized as one of the 25 most beautiful cities in the world by Travel + Leisure, further solidifying its status as a must-see destination.

Hoi An is a remarkably preserved example of a small-scale trading port that flourished from the 15th to 19th centuries. The city had extensive trade connections with Southeast Asia, East Asia, and the rest of the world.

Giant calligraphy hat breaks record as largest in Vietnam

The work has been done on the initiative of Dao Thi Cam Suong, a calligrapher from Can Tho. The giant conical hat is made up of a total of 540 smaller conical hats, with calligraphy written on top. Suong has spent 89 days writing the calligraphy and finding connections to produce the finished product. The words written on the giant hat include sightseeing spots in Can Tho, folk songs, proverbs, poems, and the names of various provinces and cities across the country. She shares that the purpose of her work is to honour the beauty of the fatherland through pieces of calligraphy. Indeed, the giant hat is created from 540 small conical hats which themselves represent the country’s 54 ethnic minority groups.
